What a stunning tribute to a obviousuly liked and loved man.....this story is a heartbreaker....I as well love mopars and fast cars in general..I have almost an identical challenger like Gary's...it shows how much he loved that car since the video showed it all throughout the funeral....what a shame to lose a man at the young age.....he was taken one day after my 36th birthday so this hits close to home....God bless him and his family left behind......

I got to know Gary thru many home emails, Moparts private messages and phone calls in approximately the last year or so of his life. We spoke about law enforcement and Mopars since we both shared the same passion about family, work and cars. We had talked about and planned to meet in Michigan when I later traveled to Michigan to see my B1 motor dyno'd. I will NEVER forget the day I found out about his sudden death, never. I felt robbed that I never got the opportunity to meet such a fine human being of true character. For the short time that I did get to know Gary I feel blessed. Oddly enough, in my line of work I met a Michigan State Trooper 3-yrs ago who moved to Arizona and retired that knew Gary and now has become a dear friend of mine.............

RIP "G".........

Wes

I can't believe it is almost 5 years ago. I can still hear his voice when he cleared the crowd at the Red Roof Inn during the Mopar Nationals so I could do a hole shot in the parking lot.
It's still incredible to me how many people's lives he touched and how highly everyone thought of him. What a great guy!!!
Rest in peace Gary!!!! I'll never forget you.

Every night that I go to work I think of Coop. I was his dispatcher his last night. That night was the hardest night of my life, my job is to send help where it is needed...on this night we could only listen to the aftermath. We all did what we could but it was still not enough.
Tell your family and friends how you feel about them, it all happens so fast.
Rest in peace, Coop - know that you are missed everyday!

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of OD. I've lost both parents, Mom 8Years ago, and Dad 1Year ago, and I can still say that Garys' death was the worst thing I have ever tried to deal with. My advice to ALL of us is to tell your friends exactly how much they mean to you... every chance you get, Regardless of sounding wierd or strange... You never know when you won't have that chance. . . . Bubba

Gary, I still remember you. I think of you...and Nicki daily. I am here right now at 0200 hours with little John in Indianapolis viewing this website for the very first time. I looked at the photo album and burst into tears. I remember it all.

Looking back on things....I recall the infinite love that was displayed on your behalf by both fellow officers and friends. I recall the tears, and.... well, YOU KNOW.

In any event, as it were, you are not forgotten. I was on an airplane working during the D.C. Event, and there were several NYPD officers on board who were on their way to D.C to pay tribute to their fallen friend. I told them about you. I made new friends that day all because of you.

You said I was so small that you could put Me in your pocket..I wonder.....if that pocket is still available? I hope so.

With undying love and devotion,

Dart_Girl.
